Pre season friendly verses Tenby, rearranged when Tycroes were unable to fulfill the fixture, was a good test for Saints against the higher division one visitors and although Tenby were the first to score after fifteen minutes when their left wing crossed in the corner, Saints number 8 Matthew Owens immediately levelled the scores. Unfortunately shortly after registering his try Matthew substained a nasty elbow injury which will probably put him out action for the start of the season and this setback rather marred the excellent efforts by Saints which produced a level half time score fairly reflecting the balance of play.

A careless slip immediately after the restart gifted a converted try to Tenby to restore their lead but Saints scrum half Owen Davies reduced the arrears ten minutes later with a good opportunist try.

Two tries in quick succession for the visitors lively backs rather spoiled the day but the final try for Saints outside half Shane Morgan with a good conversion in a tricky wind for Adam Phillips produced a very satisfactory final score of 17 points to 24.
