Home to Aberaeron 07/03/2015

Aberaeron started proceedings with a fresh wind at their backs and within four minutes outside half Sean Evans registered their first try as a result of sloppy defence and missed tackles. Evans himself missed the conversion from a relatively simple position to let the home side off lightly, however. At this stage a repeat of the drubbing suffered in Aberaeron earlier in the season looked likely but the early set back served to fire up the home side with the back division showing good rugby skills probing the visitors defence before an excellent move resulted in scrum half Ryan Thomas putting wing Mark Pickersgill in for a try in the corner after fifteen minutes.

Ceri Jones got in on the act shortly afterwards following further good work from the backs touching down by the posts to allow Chris Rodenhurst an easy conversion  putting Saints 12 points to 5 in front. A successful penalty attempt four minuters later from Evans reduced the arrears however .The first of three yellow cards was produced to reduce the home side's numbers five minutes later and in a game increasingly disrupted by penalties one successful attempt penalty each for Rodenhurst and Evans respectively produced the half time score of 15 points to 11.

A further yellow card was produced for Saints captain Daffyd Page this time, within three minutes of the restart and twelve minutes later the visitor's inside centre Aled Morgan finished off an excellent move through the backs to score in the corner. Despite the wind advantage Saints found themselves increasingly on the back foot having to defend against revived visitors looking to impose themselves but on this occasion they were up for the task producing their best and most resolute performance of the season. Time and time again tackles went in and nobody wavered.

The visitors looked more likely to score although Saints had their own chances but Inevitably and increasingly penalties were the most significant feature of the game including a further yellow card for Saints Number eight Rob Phillips. Ultimately however failed penalty attempts by the visitors against Chris Rodenhurst's successful shot decided the game with a narrow but well deserved victory for the home side of 18 points to 16. .
