Final match at home to Pembroke rearranged from the original date, which suffered a late postponement on a very wet February, was dry and sunny although with a chill wind at the visitor's back at the start.
After an even opening ten minutes with both sides looking for the initial advantage St Clears gifted possession to Pembroke and although not appearing to be in an area where any serious damage could ensue, the dangerous Pembroke backs were able to slice through the home defence with ease for the first score.
Within ten minutes two further tries were registered in similar fashion, one of which was converted and although this sandwiched a successful penalty kick from Darren Rees the warning signs were flashing!
However Saints rallied and held their own, conceding only one further try ten minutes into the second half and a deficit of twenty nine points to three was by no means an unfair reflection of the balance of play.
Three tries in the last five minutes of the game, with the home side flagging after their valiant efforts to keep Pembroke at bay, rather spoilt the afternoon however and a final score of forty six points to three was a harsh outcome for what was a reasonable performance in the circumstances.
